Our workshops

Imagining, designing and manufacturing coats, trenches and jackets is not done in the blink of an eye, as you can imagine. It is a long job which requires a lot of investment, but above all, which calls on the cream of the know-how and the best experts. These sine qua non conditions are met in our two workshops. The first is that of our parent company, in France. HQ of our creations, it is here that the models of tomorrow and small productions are developed. Our second Ukrainian workshop brings to life the wonders imagined in France. There, the seamstresses with nimble fingers ensure the production of the coats and jackets that you will wear next season.

Focus

The 4th step is crucial since it consists of reviewing all the canvases made in our workshop. We scrutinize them, try them on and then debrief to retain only the most beautiful models. The selection is strict, the opinions are clear and the favorites are often already there. The selected models once again pass into the hands of the stylists whose mission is to choose the accessories (buttons, linings, etc.) and to refine the details (type of pockets, button lacing, shape of the collar, etc.). The second round of prototypes is then launched and makes it possible to validate the style and “fit” of the model, but also to try it on a mannequin so that the modelist can adjust the volume and drape, for a perfect coat.

Production

Once all our prototypes have been validated, the collections are presented to our boutique customers who select their favorite pieces. At the same time, we order the fabrics, the vast majority from our loyal Italian suppliers. The production phase can finally start! Our team of passionate experts then take their tickets. Head to our Ukrainian workshop to brief the sewing machine aces and to pass on all the know-how and expertise of Lener Cordier. Coats, trenches, jackets and parkas… The new Trench & Coat collection is revealed. Looking forward to introducing it to you!

1954

It all begins in Hazebrouck in the north of our dear hexagon. In 1954, Marguerite Lener , the grandmother of our big boss, started making clothes, all alone in her attic. A business woman at heart, Marguerite actually initiated the beginnings of her start-up. Named Lener Cordier, the company will become one of the flagships of French textiles by specializing in “sleeved pieces” and manufacturing for a multitude of French brands.

1986

The years go by, the company grows and becomes a big company whose know-how is passed down from generation to generation. Marguerite's two sons quickly joined the adventure and then, in 1986, her grandson, Frédéric Lener, took over. The sentence was irrevocable: Lener Cordier still had many beautiful, long years ahead of her.

2024

Today, with the 60 years of expertise of our parent company, we buy our own fabrics like adults from our loyal Italian suppliers, always calculating our needs as accurately as possible so as not to waste anything. That’s our planet friendly side. Our style team and our workshop of pattern makers, pattern makers and seamstresses have not left our native land: Hazebrouck once, Hazebrouck always. That’s our French side. As for the production of our coats, most of the work is done in our own Lener Cordier factory in Ukraine (and smaller operations in France) thanks to a team of ultra-punctilious experts who operate the sewing machines like no other. That’s our made in Europe side.

Trench and Coat Specialist

When it comes to collections, we are coat obsessives. But also trenches, jackets, safari jackets, parkas, jackets... In short, everything that is visible. We have fun with revisited basics, invented models, vibrant colors, subtle details, quality materials and always at very nice prices. When it comes to distribution, we installed our most beautiful pieces on the racks of our favorite boutiques and concept stores. Our e-shop recently got a makeover (so, do you like it?) and Instagram has become our new best friend. We also collect Miles. France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Japan, Korea... We are on the move and today we show our coats and jackets all around the world. But the most beautiful story is undoubtedly the one you write day after day with us. So, a huge thank you.
